Some fruit trees benefit from being starved. In particular if they are being stubborn to fruit. Also having their root range under the canopy concreted over deprives the minute soil microflora of oxygen. This in turn decreases the symbiotic relationship the plant has with beneficial microflora.... A...

Ah well another lesson learned... are the perrenial Coleus the pink and green with rather wishy washy colours? I ask as I saw them today but dismissed them.

Unfortunately I wont be in Pakistan. Then they will be at the mercy of the mali. Regardless the pruning and shaping of Ficus has not been to my satisfaction. Poor Coleus

Picked up a dozen Coleus at the nursery this morning. Im hoping they will survive the coming heat. They looked nice in the pots but im not so sure now theyre in the ground. Well then how about a half circle of daylilies to complement the curves which are allready becoming evident in the design. The other half circle in something else.

Thats a lovely combination but unfortunately does not fit in with my plans. I am somewhat reluctant to disturb them in the forthcoming hot and dry haar season.
