A pH of 4.5 is quite acidic. When you tested this pot soil, were any plants growing in those pots or is it just fresh garden soil from a bag? Thanks Farooq the first one seems to be dodonaea as i searched net after your reply. The other one i am not sure . Flowers of accaica seem to be fuzzy type. These flowers are petals type . The first picture shows the seeds of Dodonaea.

The bottom picture looks like yellow Acacia, I am not sure about the species.

Very interesting question but most likely extremely complex answer. I wish we knew the answer. Some flowers change color due to soil pH. Sometimes, the presence of aluminum can make drastic changes. Sometimes, it is a genetic mutation. I will ask a botanist friend.
