Mealy bugs solution

Q: I’m fed up of mealy bugs. I spray soapy water every other day but it doesn’t kill them. What can I do?
A: Mix up five tablespoons of good quality cooking oil, one tablespoon baking soda, two tablespoons unperfumed liquid soap and bring up to one gallon with water. Spray the mealy bugs with this at regular intervals until they are totally wiped out.
