Gardenia Buds Dropping Without Blooming
Aslamalikum
I have a gardenia plant baught 3 months back, now it is a healthy bush but the problem is, flower buds are dropping off without blooming. I am giving him ferrous sluphate and NPK 20-20-20 twice a month.
Can somebody help me out what is the reason of not getting bloomed gardenia.
Regards.

Re: Gardina Buds Dropping Without Blooming
most of the plants buds drop when they experience dryness, less humidity or change in location.

Are you sure it is Gardenia? The leaves are not confirming to Gardenia and Gardenia normally bloom in April.

I agree with Brig Sahib that the leaves posted at the top do not appear to be that of Gardenia.

@Adnan Bahi no change in location since it was planted in this pot about 3 months back. so it can be dryness and less humidity.
@ Khurram and Arif Bahi,
When i baught this plant from nursury about 3 months back, nursury man told me "He is been told from where he got the plant that this is different verity of gardenia, its flower is double than normal gardenia". Nursury man said he never saw this verity before so he even dont known how does this flower look like.
Plant behavior is same like other gardenia i have, Like leaf sprouting, bud texture. So i am sure this is gardenia.
Growth is very good as u can see in picture, there are lot of flower buds but no bloomed flower yet.

Re: Gardina Buds Dropping Without Blooming
This is a local green gardenia, your plant is very healthy and it will bloom when the temperatures are cooler, it will become semi dormant during winters and just after spring it will be loaded with blooms..
I have a big gardenia bush which produced hundreds of blooms in spring, it is still growing strong and producing flower buds, but all dropped due to high temperatures, now during the monsoon the temperature is moderate and it has started holding the buds which may bloom by September and October..
My advice is to pinch the tips of your gardenia to make it more bushy, keep using NPK and Ferrous sulfate till November... the progress of three months is a result of your nurturing, keep it up!

Mine big bush is same as of Brig. sb. it is a variegated gardenia, it has 2-3 inch diameter blooms.. your plant blooms will be 3-4 inch in diameter... but both varieties as local and fragrance is not strong:
