Barbarous Bulbs

Endangered species esp. plants and animals (ii) impact of overuse of chemicals such as fertilizers, herbicides, & pest controls on our lives (iii) wild-life of Pakistan and (iv) other interesting notes about the environmental issues again relevant to Pakistan.

Barbarous Bulbs

Post by mikhurram »

Some bulbs if allowed to grow in a soil bed rapidly multiply and colonise the entire site. Notable among them are Muscari, Iphenion, Crinum, Ornithogalum and Oxalis. These bad bulbs cover the soil bed so effectively that at times it becomes difficult even to spot weeds hidden beneath their foliage.
Caution: Don't be tricked by their small size and protect your garden from being colonised by consigning them to pots only.
