where to get this formula
I bought the chemicals from the suppliers which supply to universities and college labs. Check my post in Roses in Soil-less medium, same chemicals are used.
complete names of elements

N (NO3-) = Nitrogen from nitrate
N (NH4+) = Nitrogen from Ammonium
K = Potassium
P = Phosphorus
Mg = Magnessium
Ca = Calcium
S = Sulfur
Fe = Iron
what is ppm
PPM or Parts Per Million is defined as Milligrams of solute present in 1000 ml water.
For example if we dissolve 5 gram of water soluble NPK in one litre (i.e. 1000 ml) of water the PPM of
the final solution after dissolving will be:
5 gram = 5000 mg
5000 mg in 1000 ml water
Ans: 5000 PPM Solution

Now to calculate the individual PPM of the components, we must know their percentages in the
compound. Lets say we have NPK 20:20:20, which means we have:

Nitrogen=N=20 percent
Phosphate=P2O5=20 percent
Potassium=K2O=20 percent

20 percent OF 5000 is 1000, so in this solution of 5000 PPM we have:
Nitrogen=N= 1000 PPM
Phosphate=P=1000 PPM
Potassium=K= 1000 PPM
how to mix them in how much water
You have to learn how much PPM of each element is required for the plants, there is a lot of information on internet. then by using the PPM calculations you drive the formula on paper i.e. how much any chemical is required in grams to be dissolved in how much water to attain the required PPM.
