mikhurram,
How about some pictures of your Orchids and how you grow them.
Brig Sahib,
The best thing about orchids was that their flowers used to remain in display for month and a half without effecting the quality of the flowers. I used to grow orchids quite extensively back 10 years ago and even figured out their medium but then didn't used to place them in a greenhouse during the winters and eventually they perished during the winters a few years back.

The key is their medium, misting them during our hots summer months (May,June, July, August) and placing them in a green house during our winter months of December, January especially. I am now considering to grow them again.

The medium is mixture of old composted bark chips (chips of chir pine can also be used), imported compost and perlite or pumice stones. Addition of slow release fertliser is optional.

regards,

Who would not like a rose, only if I could grow them to my satisfaction, do you?
How about the other two?

Mustansir Billah
The first two,Yes but what is there in Sun Flower to merit the slot. How about a picture of your champion.
Muhammad Imran 7
Please support your champions with pictures and make it a little colourful. How do you store the corms of Renunnculus
to keep them viable?

Pictures and a little reasoning should make it more interesting.

How do i save ranannculus cromes
1. first i let the follage dry out completely after the flowering (usually end of april or start of may)

2. then dig the surface the pull out the plant alongwith cromes. cut out the plant little above from the crome.

3. wash away all cromes completey and with the help of paint brush, clean any soil or mud on the cromes

4. let them dry in the shade for 24 hours. after drying, sprinkle anti-fungus powder on them and pack them in A4 envelop and seel. store them in cool and dry place. use them in next year

Mustansir, I love to tease a little.
Sun flower a true worshipper of sun has a beauty of its own. they come in various shades and forms, the big heads for the oil seeds but I like the medium size with dark centre which forms about 4 feet tall bush having hundreds of flowers, you keep dead heading it and it keeps blooming.

Izhar,
Lovely Gardenia, I wish that the Portulaca would stay open morning till evening, it is so delicate and has bright cheery look. I love it too.

Muhammad Imran
Your renunculus are so healthy and beautiful. My corms fail to germinate they look healthy when I plant them but always rot without germination. I have purchased seedlings of 7 different colours, hope I get good results.

Your Zinias are also of bright colours and very healthy.
Thanks
Arif

above shown ranannculus are from seedling last year. i saved the cromes and sowed them this year, few of them are germinated and others lost/roted. i will inshallah keep experimenting on this flower and next time i will get more success.

Just to add weight to the choice of Mustansir sb, I present you this beauty.
The most fascinating thing about sunflower is the seed arrangement in the centre.
