Re: Cut flowers
Zinnias, Aster, Gerbera, Chrysanthemum have a long vase life... tall mixed zinnia make beautiful bouquet, which you can make on regular bases during the season...

Re: Cut flowers
Whereas all flowers can be used as cut flowers but some are better than the others because of their vase life.
In fact I consider vase life one of the most important factors for cut flower.
Hippeastrum is the best of all, Cut it at any stage after bud formation and take it to full bloom, in fact some friends have taken it to seed formation.
Day lilies although mentioned by a friend in this forum, to open to last bud did not do so with me even the third day bud opened poorly.
As is clear from above friends have a very good idea and many are experts in certain specific plant.
It would benefit us all if Khan Sahib could tell us at what stage to pick a rose and subsequent treatment to get a long vase life and so can others chip in with their experience.
I am glad that Bilal mentioned Motia, My mother was very fond of Motia branches in her vases, the buds kept opening, room was fragrant and the foliage looks great.
Some plants like Glads do not bloom at the same time, it would be a good idea to grow them separately in some corner for cut flowers
