Thanks for the input guys. Yeah separating the worms from the finished castings would be a bit of a challenge, but according to some videos on youtube there are many methods, none of them difficult but all of them time consuming.
Still have a month to decide how to go about it.

Re: My worm farm (for Earth Worm Castings)
I think they're ready.... i could be wrong but the castings are dark, almost nothing left but a little paper (and a very small amount of a huge mango pit i threw in there 3 months ago )
I might (might) just be rushing it, but the worms have been trying to get out of the bin, they don't look too happy. When all other factors are okay (and they are) that usually means the castings are done and the worms don't want to live in their own $#it anymore.
Now to harvest the good stuff, sift out any material not eaten and collect all the worms for my second bin.

Your objective is to get castings for your pots, right?
Have you tried so far?

Pots and aerated teas for home garden and veggie patch.
So far, I've made a soil mix with 1/3 peat, 1/3 castings and 1/3 rice hulls for some plants (not sure i should name them here but you might have guessed). It's cycling right now since i've added some amendments to it.
I've already used the tea twice on my mother's money plants around the house with some obvious results... they look really perky and now I'm being made to teach my mom how to make her own tea lol.
The first batch of castings was limited; i've only got two tea's worth left... I'll be travelling in a week for a month so i'll do a before/after on my veggies when i get back. One of the big barrels should be close to being ready by then.

I'll wait till the wave of legalisation passes through our parts of the wood.... can't deny it's medicinal properties, besides it's 100% natural. But hey, don't wanna offend anyone here.
