My favorite winter annual is single petal aquilegia because

1- It performs very well in semi shade for me
2- Flowers are large (Single ones)
3- No pests disease ever
4- Beautiful color range, i got pink, blue and white this year
5- Long blooming season for me in soil bed. Get till June easily.
6- Reliable flowering each year for me. Once starts flowering does not stop it till die.

I know most of the members might not agree to it, but for shade or semi shade it is my favorite plant every year.

Petunia for me Brig sahib based on its long bloom spell that extends till middle of May, the countless colour options as well as combinations, growth of clump, lack of disease associated to it.

Mine is Chrysanthemum carinatum

1: Quick and easy to grow
2: Attractive
3: Blooming season is long
4: Each bloom has a central darker cushion which gives a stunning look.

single petal aquilegia,
Khabbab, I have always considered it a plant of cool area in Lahore I could never get a reasonable display.
Please give us a detailed account supported by pictures for our education.
Seed availability?
Time of sowing?
Method of sowing?
Care/husbandry?
Collection and storage of seeds.
Thanking you in anticipation

Izhar, Imran, I agree with you, As it ages the centre becomes unkempt. The seeds are difficult to collect and you have to buy seed or seedlings every year.
Farah Fayyaz,
Chrysanthemum carinatum nothing like it if you like it, easy to grow, seeds easily, would come back if left undisturbed,I have never grown it.
