Balcony Garden

Post by saadwaseem »

Hello All,
My first post here, dont really know much about gardening, and need some help.

I have a balcony in my apartment, L shaped. Its 2 feet wide and ten feet long. I want a garden there.

Here is what i am thinking:
1. A grass bed, end to end.
2. Pots on the border rail with flowers.
3. Some flowing vines.

How do i factor in the sunlight, and rains? I am in islamabad.

I think it will be difficult to grow grass in balconies. Flowering vines will do very well in pots. Visit a good local nursery and they advise what vines are available to grow in balconies. Morning glories are among my favourites.

2 feet wide is only suitable for pots on border rail.. what is the duration of direct sunlight in your balcony??
