Groundcovers to replace grass.

Post by warda321 »

Hello, I live in Hyderabad Sindh and am a novice in gardening and plants care. our garden does not get enough sunlight (due to trees surrounding it) to get grass to grow, our gardener suggested to cut off all the trees for grass but we don't want to cut them. I searched on internet about ground covers that grow in shade, can tolerate some foot traffic and produce flowers (want to save bees and butterflies as well). Can I please get some information on what types of ground covers grow in this area, what are their common names and whether they are available in local nurseries or i'll have to buy it online?
Some of the Ground covers I saw on internet are: thyme, chamomile, clover, white/blue star creeper etc. None of these seem to grow here.
