Roughly trying to translate it for you (nursery equivalents esp. for Karachi):

non-clayey soil = bhaaloo matti/ bhal matti

coarse sand = rait / bajri

fully rotted manure = purani khaad

Hope it is somewhat accurate ...

I agree. The following was posted about horse manure by my source for Irises.
"Be careful about the source of compost. Aged horse manure makes a good soil conditioner plus adds phosphorus and micro-nutrients. Using cow manure is questionable because of its higher bacteria count which may lead to rot in the rhizomes."

Egg shells can be used to increase the calcium content of the soil IMO, which in case affect the pH. We add calcium/magnesium sources like this all the time in aquatic planted tanks. Tea has tannins which are a bit anti fungus/biotic so I guess the purpose would be to avoid some kinda root rot?

Brothers, some plants are lime loving, so if you are planting such plant in a pot you may provide it with extra caco3 either by using marble chips or egg shells, chai pati disintegrates fast so it provides some nutrition also. If you observe in mountain areas the limestone areas usually have more vegitation than shale or sand stone, CO2 mixed with rain water makes corbonic acid that dissolves the limestone and some notrogen fixing bacteria use this dissolved CACO3 to fix nitrogen in the soil. In home usually egg shells and chai patti is used for roses, but rinse chai patti to remove milk contant before using.

The simplest and best is t check with your local nursery, what they use for there seedlings, it would be the cheapest efficient soil.

I live near Sea view Karachi. I need to know a few things. 1) best soil mix for potted seasonal flowers.2) best mix for flower beds.3) why should the soil be changed every year for pots. 4) frequency for changing flower bed soil
