Post by Izhar » May 11th, 2015, 4:54 pm

I bought Gardenia jasminoides seeds from T&M group purchase, used peat, coco peat, perlite and compost as the potting mix... got excellent germination, 18 out of 20 seeds germinated:

Peat moss, Compost, perlite 1:1:1 ratio.. after sowing and watering cover the pot with plastic sheet and keep in shade, remove the sheet after 4-5 days.. once germinated and first true leaves are formed, gradually bring them into full sun...

My plants are in full sun..water with ferrous sulfate solution (1 tsp in 1 litre water) every 15 days.. they have long roots so use a deep pot..

They should be sown in early spring so they could mature before winter arrives, I will transplant them when they are around 4 inches tall..
