Re: marwa plant....
Dear Farooq,
Marwa (known as Kaamnee in Karachi) is Murraya paniculata (the tall one), while the Dwarf one is Murraya exotica
The Curry leaf tree is Murraya koenigii
Actually the common names are different in our different regions.

Thanks for the correction of the curry plant. I believe Marwa is a herb with aromatic leaves that is called or close to oregano in English. If Kaamnee has been misnomered as marwa in lingua franca, why shouldn't we correct it .

The common names are extremely diverse across the globe. Most of the people are not willing to accept the change in common name because of the perceived image of a thing which comes into their mind immediately when they read or hear that name.
For harmonize this, Latin names and terminologies are used globally.. (you just used one in your post)

I totally agree about the resistance in changing the common names.
Just for fun... if you are interested ... there is a largest database of known plants on the Earth (http://www.theplantlist.org/), out of 1 million Latin names, 45% are synonyms, 25% are unresolved and only 28% are established species names!!
This is the human side of science but still an excellent effort
