Re: Pecan Nut Tree
Some friends of our got the pecan nut trees for us from swat. They had planted some in F-8 for 2 years, they survived but were not happy. We planted the same, last year at our place in peer sohawa at Marghala Hills. The trees are much happier.
They still have not given nuts.Hope this spring we may get some.

Re: Pecan Nut Tree
Thanks Fauzia Elahi
Many nurseries showed me Walnut trees instead of Pecan nut tree as they tend to mix them up. Pecan nut tree has been very successful in Potohar area and I have eaten the nuts given to me by someone. I was interested to plant 2-3 trees in my farm near Chakri.
Dr. Iftikhar (ex NARC) who runs a nursery near Gujjar Khan and sells varieties suited for Potohar area gave me two trees earlier but could not survive because my caretaker didn't water them properly. The Pecan Nut tree as told by Dr. Iftikhar would grow a bit slow in start and then relatively fast in 3-4 years.
Now heard that Tarnab Nurseries are selling around 600-700 rupees a plant.
