Lawn/Garden edging
As.Salamu Alikum
Dear members, share your knowledge regarding edging of lawn as per your likes. All of you are requested to comment. I personally like "lawn edging with plants" as per my little knowledge on gardening. I have seen some gardens here with plants edging but I don't know names of plants edging in those pictures e.g Farhan Bhai Garden edging was superb with low height and showing a compact view of his lawn but I don't know the name of the plant.
While mentioning plants, you are requested to name local/Desi names along with English names. It can help beginners like me to find it in local nurseries.

The images are of newly planted plugs......that is why it looks so. After a season or two...they will become quite large. Any duranta specie can easily reach upto 4-6 Feet high and atleast 1-2 feet wide. Now you can still keep it small by excessive pruning and not letting it grow but in my opinion that is wastage of the potential of the plant. .....

Re: Lawn/Garden edging
I have nanthra as borders for all my kayaris, it is very hardy, fast growing and easy to grow.. In fact I am finding it difficult to control its fast growth...It needs weekly cutting to keep it in shape...

Re: Lawn/Garden edging
I prefer the cement made borders like these bamboos. I thought they were quite low maintenance but the greedy korean grass is encroaching into my plant beds through the tiny slits in between. I dont know what to do except regular manual removal. Among the plants I think nantra looks the best.
