If you can visit Plant Pioneers Nursery (Meet Mr. Hamid Khursheed). It is on park road opposite NARC, entrance from main road. He introduced several herbs to NARC and also ha got commercial variety of Stevia with big leaves. He has an excellent source of knowledge and varieties of herbs.

Arsalan sb,

I have grown several plants but purchased initially from a nursery on Rawal road and then few from a nursery in Shakarparian. Then it was easy to multiply the plants by propagating through the cuttings.

:( ...i bought a seemingly dead stevia from islamabad, it had blooms which turned into seeds which germinated with ease, the plant itself is making new shoots from the base... lets see how it behaves in Karachi...

I have Stevia in pots in Islamabad. It just seemingly dies out in winters but then sprouts back. However I keep cutting the stems when they grow up, get the leaves dry, grind them and use them in tea instead of Sugar. Now plan to shift them in beds, preferably around the trees. For propagating Stevia, I have a wonderful article in Word Document with pictures to explain. If anyone interested, I can email.

you can copy paste that article here... it means that it grows in summers and become dormant during winter?

Yes Izhar sb it is like that based on my observation, though would like to see for one more year to be sure and also when I shift them next spring to farm in open land. The article suggests that one can move them indoors during winters.

Pictures inserted inside the word document are not coming up here, so probably I can email that !
