Grafted Tomatoes

Post by mikhurram »

Prices of Tomatoes has sky rocketed in recent weeks. Grafting of heirloom tomato varieties can be done by using Brinjals as the root stock and these are becoming popular in the West owning to their high yield, less usage of fertlizers and disease resistance. In addition the roots of grafted tomatoes supposedly stretch longer than regular tomato plants enabling them to find more nutrients and water and finally a longer ripening period.

Has anyone experimented by grafting our desi tomatoes on brinjal or hybrid tomato varieties rootstock?
