Finally successfull growing watermelon in my containergarden

Almost a year back since I got the papitay ki paiti (large wooden crate used for selling papaya in larger Quantities), I have the intention to grow watermelon at home but after the failure of first 3 attempts due to damping off and low sprouting rate etc I give up the matter for time being.This year I gave it a try and used the seeds directly from watermelon instead of packet seeds which gave encouraging results, I have harvested two watermelons from a single plant weighting 3.5 kg and 2 kg respectively (5.5 kg total).Without any special care like limiting the no of fruits or pinching the newshoots after fruitset etc. I leave it on the nature except for fertilizing the plants.

congats.What about the papitay ki paiti.Did you grow the watermelon in it ?

Not very sweet as I had harvested them a bit earlier.
But home gardening is always about learning.
