Roses come in all flower sizes, all equally charming, good husbandry will reward you with more flowers, which again is dependent on macro/micro environment.
I love them but they don't like what I can offer them, so I do not grow them any more.

Exactly. All efforts should be made to keep the plant healthy. A healthy plant will have a larger bloom size and will fight out diseases at its own, most of the time.

Apologies for my absence but have been quite busy these days with my sons wedding. I am currently in Pakistan.

Madiha.....Extra Potassium usually double the quantity of normal fertiliser produces larger and intense blooms.

You can also achieve this through burying a few banana peels or a small fish under the rootball when planting. Both of these provide the extra nutrients required in addition the decomposition of fish/fisheads provide a heat boost in the root area.

Most of your roses are first year grafts. They are just infants which need to be nurtured in the nursery for at least a year and a half to grow up into mature plants. Unfortunately in Pakistan, 4 to 6 months old grafted roses are sold in the market. They need two years to establish into mature bushes. So please be patient and keep feeding them for another year. They will be ok when they grow up. It is not fair to expect an infant to perform like a grown up. We can't fight nature you see

It is true that some (actually very few) of the modern hybrid roses don't grow well through cuttings but most do. The actual reason for grafting / budding is commercial viability. A budded rose can be sold in 4-6 months whereas an own root rose will take 1 year to 18 months to grow into a reasonable bush. Actually, a budded rose also takes the same amount of time but since it starts developing buds in around 4 months after budding, it is easier to be sold in the market.
