It is known as "Khall" or "khalli" in Urdu, when oil seeds like cotton, mustard, sunflower etc are compressed to extract the oil... the residue left is know as "Oil cake"

Guys my first post & I am not an experienced gardener like most of you:

I remember from my childhood, my father (may Allah bless him) growing roses with tremendous blooms.
He would drive 1 " x 6' pegs in the ground, in a circle around the plant and fill these holes with a mixture of crushed banola, patti ki khad, buffalo manure & water. He would do this kind of fortnightly.

I also remember him pruning the roses to a hand-span height every winter.

PS: Banola is the see part in cotton.

Did any of the gardeners tried these recipes? If yes where can I see any feedback?
