Hello Izhar bhai.Izhar wrote:Please post pictures of the affected plants...
I'm coming back online since almost an year!
I need your little help.
I just want to know that what did I do wrong last year. I had around 25 potted roses, but as spring ended and summers came, all of them one by one started dying and by the end of 2016, I was left with only 2 potted roses and a broken heart! </3
Any ways I decided not to get roses any more but every time I passed by nurseries, I couldn't move my eyes from those beautiful roses!
Now I ended up buying 10 more roses!
Please help me so that I don't lose these as well!
Last year I watered them regularly, kept them away from mid-day sun and followed all your advises but still couldn't save them!
Is there any thing that I missed?

Re: New to roses and gardening!
Izhar bhai, well TBH I didn't sprayed much during summers neither I told our gardener to do it as I was really busy with my studies! I think he sprayed once a month and I did saw lots of mites on them when they were almost dead.Izhar wrote:Spray!! how often you sprayed pesticides??

Currently I've malathion, is it fine against mites and thrips? I just sprayed today and I think you did read my post on umair bhai's thread which burnt the new growth. I used around 10 ml in 500 ml bottle, I think I should have had used 5ml.

Thanks for your prompt reply!Izhar wrote:4 ml/ 1000 ml water.... yes mites can kill plants quickly...
I've few more questions,
1. Is malathion okay against mites and thrips?
2. What visible damage can thrips do except for damaging the rose buds?
3. Is there anything else I can use to kill these thrips or mites except for using chemical sprays?
4. When should I soft and hard prune the roses?
5. How exactly should I use pesticide? Like directly spraying on the leaves or pouring it in the soil?
6. Do heavy winds damage roses?
I'll really appreciate your reply!

1) Malathion burn leaves
2) twisted and crinkled new leaves
3) No
4) No need, just cut 2-3 inch every branch in November
5) Spray on leaves
6) Yes

Our gardener buys all the insecticide etc and currently he's at his village due to an emergency and won't come back before the end of this month.
As of now, I have no other choice except for spraying malathion against thrips, what should I do? Should I continue spraying it in little quantity or no?

Is this the one? Should I order it?
If this isn't the one then any idea how much will it cost?
