Re: help rose plant
Moist soil,not wet
Good feed.
Sun light as mentioned above.
Anti fungus spray(specially in monsoon and in summer).
Prevention of sun in very hot days to avoid burning(specially for young plants).
Timly and good pruning.
These are some suggestion which i learnt from this forum member specially umar regarding rose plantation.
Expert opinion is still needed from Umar, Izhar, khabbab, brig sb and other senior members.
I would request all to share their expeirences.
Regards
Rafique

Re: help rose plant
Will you pot or put in ground?
- Generally a well draining medium is necessary, roses love moisture but not wet feet.
- They are heavy feeders so adequate fertilization but only for established plants. Initially compost and well rotted cow manure is good.
- 6 hours of sunlight is best to get the best flowering.
- In humidity and in the winter when nights are cool and moist fungus is a big issue (I suffered badly) so at that time I would say weekly anti-funga lspary (like Bayers Allitte recommended by Umar Khan).
- Prune in winter just before Spring by no more than 1/3 ro 1/2 of the bush. Remove any crossing canes for better aeration to prevent disease.
- Remove suckers if you have grafted plants since they compete with the graft for nutrition.
It's a wider topic if we get into the intricacies but this I think is rose care in a nutshell
