Amaryllis surgery

Post by Muhammad Arif Khan »

Yesterday while visiting my roof top Hippeastrum garden I found Four plants in bad shape, all going for a slow death.
On un-potting them I found the basal plate of the bulbs was not healthy a little surgery was undertaken, basal plates were sliced/scraped and so were the necks. The bulbs were dusted with anti fungal powder and bulbs left to dry, they will be replanted in February. I hope I will be able to save them.

I hope they will rejuvenate, left untreated they would have died.
Follow up should be interesting.
