Do these hybrids set seed for you and if so have you grown them and what was the result? Thanks for this helpful information.

I have not pollinated any of my Hippeastrelia flowers yet because my intention was to get a Hippeastrelia hybrid and would not like to cross back to Hippeastrum because I do not want to change the colour of the flower. It was for the flower colour that I used Red Lion originally in the cross.

Hello, Heinie,
The leaves of my plants are not half as broad as seen in your picture, my be what I have is a different specie.

They are also not planted as deep, I will shift them to a bigger pot.

Muhammad,

My Hippeastrelia hybrid leaves are wider than yours in the photo but my Sprekelia leaves are perhaps a little wider but those are about 10 year old bulbs. As far as I am aware there are only two Sprekelia species, Sprekelia formosissima and Sprekelia howardii.

Heinie
