Re: Planting Freesia
You are welcome to ask any questions or share your experiences. Over the years I lost atleast 500-600 freesias despite planting them in a raised bed having good drainage.

It may be higher as the figure is based on a conservative estimate.

Re: Planting Freesia
I see.
Should we pull out all bulbous, tuberous, rhizome and corm plants in the out season, or only the bulbous plants should remove from the soil in dormancy period???

Re: Planting Freesia
Not all of them need to pulled out. It would differ for each bulb, rhizome, corm variety. Some of them would thrive in pots or in a soil bed and some would need to be pulled out. The important thing is one should always experiment and draw conclusions based on those trials and there's no harm in asking others having more experience.

Refer to my reply in the posts below. Try searching first and you would find the answers to most of your questions.

Regarding Rananculus those grown from seeds give better blooms than those grown from corms. Though i have never done the exercise of preserving their corms but presumably you can take the corms out when they are done with their flowering and place them in an onion bag in a well ventilated room from May till September and then plant them again in October.

Thank you all for your suggestions. They are out of flowering stage...flowering was short but fragrance was great. Will pull the bulbs out once leaves are dried.Do their bulbs multiply?
Re: Planting Freesia
Last year planted the bulbs on 22 Sep....pulled the bulbs out in April. For this season i have just planted them. There were some very small bulbs with the main mother bulbs. Will they also grow.
