Other Details Tradescantia zebrina, as the name the indicates has zebra like stripes on the leaves. The common name of this plant has a long interesting history behind it because this plant grows and spreads everywhere it can. As the stems touch the ground they give off roots. Tradescantia bears pink flowers which are very easy to recognize since they have only 3 petals. This plant is very sensitive to over water and soft stems rot quickly with poorly draining soils.
