One of the points to remember when chilling these bulbs is not to chill them with other fruits as these (eg apples bananas tomatoes guava) often emit ethylene gas. This actually causes the bulbs to abort the flower buds deep inside. Thus leading to plenty of leafy growth but no flower buds, secondly after chilling they need to be put into the ground as soon as physically possible so much so that it is advisable to have the holes dug out for the bulbs first and plant them straight away. this gives them the chance to have stable conditions otherwise the temperature fluctuations again will cause flower bud abortion.

Sir, some of my daffodil bulbs that i placed in the fridge for pre-chilling have started to show leaf growth...The planting is due November, should i discard the sprouting bulbs or should i plant them now?
