Other Details | The word leptotus in the name of this beautiful vine means thin and slender. The branches of this vine always remain thin. It climbs the supports by robust tendrils. The leaves are heart shaped and the pink flowers look really attractive from far away. Occasionally you will find thick round round "storage" nodules if you are trying to uproot Antigonon permanently. Once Antigonon is planted, it will stay there forever, since the roots go quite deep down and the tuber re-grow even if the vine is damaged by cold. It is a very vigorous climber so plant it away from other trees. Image: From Pakistan Garden forum & Farooq's collections. Unfortunately the picture quality is not that great. |
