Asparagus fern is not a true fern but it is related to the family of Asparagus. This plant is NOT edible, despite its similar name as edible asparagus which is Asparagus offincinalis. Some botanists place it in the lily family. Although asparagus is not native to Pakistan, but it is a common household plant now. This plant is used in hanging baskets, in pots or in rock gardens. It bears small white flowers followed by red coloured fruits. None of them are conspicuous. What is attractive is its very delicate bright green foliage. Keep in mind that it has very small thorns. Its propagation is normally through dividing root-ball. If you have one plant you can make 10 plants in late winter.....and the exponential propagation will continue. For greener foliage provide regular watering or else leaves will start to turn yellow.
no sir i have discussed with farooq bhai first photo is asparagus sprengeri and second by you is Asparagus densiflorus.although we are in confusion and waiting response from senior members.plumosa fern is a vine type asparagus.
