Secondly plant them in containers so that during the dry heat and monsoon they can be stored in shelter, they can also be removed easily for the chilling process

when you remove them from the fridge don't keep them out for any longer than half an hour as the fast warming up process can undo all the weeks of preparation, have your holes dug out beforehand and get them into the ground/pots as fast as possible. place your pots somewhere cool like a basement if you have one or dangle them down the well in a bucket just above the water like my father used to (the temperature down there is lower and more stable apparently) this facilitates the extra few weeks of cooler temperature required for the developing roots before green growth erupts.

yes its no wonder so many members have given up on some of these bulbs, hardly seems worth it especially when there are so many beautiful native species around
