Izhar i had an inkling that like "Bird of Paradise" Agapanthus also hate being disturbed which can result in delayed flowering in subsequent years. Turns out my hunch was not entirely wrong as article on Agapanthus from Gardener's World shown below tends to corroborate this view. At this stage i can imagine you would be inundated with requests from many to share the off-shoots.

If the fertilization takes place and the seed pods start forming then after ripening of the pods... if it does not takes place then during rainy season...

Now it is clear that Agapanthus CAN bloom in Karachi's environment, i can wait for 2-3 more years for the next bloom after division.. :mrgreen: I am also growing ammocharis coranica from seeds, which are 3.5 years old now and will bloom in 7 years, so this is a game of patience and i am (till yet) man of patience.... :ugeek:

I think agapanthus bulbs are available at more green seed shop at main boulevard on inquiry they told me it wont bloom followed by my question "phir import kyun kia hai?? the answer was silence....


Izhar post pictures of the ammocharis coranica, is part of the bulb visible above the soil?

Agapanthus blue bulbs are readily available at all the notable seed vendors, they all are blue.. i am also growing these (blue ones) in small pots, hope they bloom in next 2 years...
