Ishwa

I am looking for the English or Scientific name of a fragrant tree or shrub abundantly found in Punjab, locally called ishwa.Can someone help?

Alas!...I do not have a picture...all I know is that the tree buds start appearing in spring season...its fragrance creates a strange feeling like elements of happiness in one's attitude.Also very good for memory just by sniffing..available all over Punjab...its roots tend to extend but cannot stand on its own...you have to give it support for that.
