Great pics. Any advice about stimulating them to bloom? Have lots of cacti, but they seem to flower really infrequently.

In my limited experience, a cold and relatively winter, a doze of fertilizers at the start of spring and lots of spring/early summer sun seem to help these plants with flowering. The plants I kept in partial shade during spring seem to struggle with flowering.

I have just a couple of Epis. Got the cuttings a couple of months back. They are growing well but there is a long way till they flower. I think epis require just too much care which I'll fail to give them. So I try to stray away from them.
Cereus, well the big ones are out of my budget. Have got a couple smaller ones, again grown from cuttings. But I have 20 or so seeds sprouted. Will have some big ones in 5 years or so

Time for weekly update
Its astros all the way, asterias to be precise.
Its all about timing.
Here are a couple of others.
This is a variegated hybrid.. Hope to see some interesting seedlings if the pollination was successful.
Look at the effort this young one is putting o_0 The plant is around 1 inch in diameter and it is developing a huge fruit.
And finally, here is an odd one. Gymnocalycium ragonesei

Lovely cacti does motivate others to try their hand at these jewels of nature. Cacti love to be neglected, sparingly watered. Our own soil with with one part No:2 crush or chips mixed in motivates it. Fertilizers i have never applied because in nature rain provides the required nutrients and i,( other then what nature provides) water them once a month . Roofs are best. Dessicated hot desert conditions up there.
Lets see which of mine flowers next year.
Has any one tried our own cacti as yet?
Regards.
