Re: 1st Photo competition for the members of Gardening Pakis
Very nice picture! That reminds of important point. The contestants should also name the plant (if they happen to know). In that way the contest will not only be entertaining but educational as well. A beautiful flower without a name leaves a void in the mind :-(farhan137 wrote:Wow......Nice click, what is this plant?
The flower looks like Pelargonium but unsure.

Re: 1st Photo competition for the members of Gardening Pakis
I suggest to have one prize for rarest plant collection, it could be a single plant or flower which is extraordinary, this could enhance the competition interest.
Also many members donot have high specification lens cameras, judges to decide whether a photo with zoom out, blur background effects should be considered for competition or not.

Re: 1st Photo competition for the members of Gardening Pakis
Rare category plants will automatically qualify a place in Macro & container gardening categories. And i suppose their rarity will earn them extra points from judges.
We have devised three categories/prizes so to say but if the participation/photographs depicting gardening effort are worthwhile we can always increase the number of prizes, I can assure members on behalf of Gardening Team that we will not be miser in rewarding our members.
Photo quality is not very important. Our judges will judge the photo on gardening effort. However if the photo is blurred to the extent of unmake able, we will be asking for the resubmission of the photographs. There will be no formalities in submission of photographs and members will be assisted in all regards if they face any problem due technology/Camera/Computer knowledge.
