Hey Members!

Post by Aayjay »

Hello everyone!

I am new to this forum, this being my first post. I am from Lahore and an engineer.

I am mainly interested in growing my own vegetables at home as I want to have them fresh and healthier. Till now, I am almost inexperienced in growing vegetables. The list of vegetables I intend to grow include iceberg lettuce, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms and many more.

Any help would be highly appreciated, especially regarding mushrooms, as they are the hardest to grow as per my knowledge.

Hope to learn a lot from all of you. :)

. Good that you are interested in growing veggies & mushrooms, but for those you mentioned, you'll have to wait for the right season,Sep-Oct for lettuce Iceberg & Nov-Dec for Tomatoes & September for Mushrooms
. Generally there are two growing seasons for Veggies:
> Summer Season. Mar-Jun; sowing time Mar-Apr. Tomatoes are transplanted in Feb-Mar.
> Winter Season. Sep/Oct- Mar;sowing time Sep-Oct/Nov.
- A veggies calender is available in the Forum, which may be searched for more details.
. Mushrooms.Sep-Mar/Apr. Growing mushrooms is a totally different nature of activity.Though wild mushrooms grow in the soil, but the media used for home or commercial production is different,eg cotton waste, straw etc.Oyster variety is fairly easy to grow, for which one just needs a small room space. If you are interested, please contact in Aug for more details;meanwhile search google, where abundant information is available
