Welcome to the forum, if you can grow gladiolus then you can also grow ranunculus... but why?? your climate is a heaven for tropical plants, hibiscus, ixoras, gardenias and orchids..

Hi niyothi. Welcome. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side :) I on the other hand dream of living by the sea and having a tropical garden where I can hear the thump thump of coconuts falling from the trees.

Hi izhar,
Yeah the climate is very favourable for tropicals n I do have orchids about 17 of them including Vanda , mokara , phals n dens they grow well so do Lilies but due to the humidity ranunculus rot. Tried so many times I still have tubers in my refrigerator but feel sad when they rot. I followed khabbabs technique from his garden geek blog but still they failed. I don't know what goes wrong even daisies failed when I tried growing from seed. I really appreciate people here who have the patience to grow everything from seed.

Shazia , thump thump of coconuts is very common n its scary too . watch where u park your , watch where u walk etc etc but all the more I like the coast for the health benefits it offers you . And it's very easy to slim down here[GRINNING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]

Love the color of your vanda. Simply beautiful. What kind of lily is in the second pic? The one that's about to bloom?
