Arif sb the pineapple takes more than two years to fruit if planted from a crown, if a sucker is planted it still takes about 18 months to flower and fruit, pineapples are from bromeliad family which grow in tropical rain forests and warmer climates with a little humidity helps a lot..... Lahore has a fairly sub-tropical climate but also severe winters are a problem which may hinder its growth i live in Rawalpindi and it almost has the same climate as lahore but im yet to see my pinapple flower and fruit so i cannot surely say anything about it  its been 2 years since i planted that pineapple crown. lets see what happens :D

It is still alive, but not doing well i doesn't tolerate full sun here in Pindi so i have taken off the older burnt leaves and moved it to shaded spot. I am yet to see it flower. :)

I have seen an ornamental variegated pineapple in Islamabad nurseries...Price range was from 500-800 per flowering plant, developing fruit was very small...which means they had forced the plant to induce flowering with any substance that produces ethylene gas.
