I planted a bulb-let of Pancreatum in 10 inch pot. I used, semi-composted leafs and broken bricks (size ½-3/4 inch) only. Fertilised it 8-4-6 NPK diluted to 400 PPM N monthly. On dormancy I opened it yesterday and found a mass of roots at the base and a well-developed bulb.
Result: a good media for bulbs those become dormant.

I planted IPOMIA in same media result VERY POOR.

Your this very medium is well aerated for thick and fleshy roots which is preferred by most bulbous plants but it has much larger space voids for thin roots of annuals making them dry...
