Propagating Brugmansia with stem cuttings.

Post by Tahir Khan » April 28th, 2013, 2:00 pm

Brugmansia season has started, here is a simple and easiest method to propagate this beautiful plant

1. Take semi-hard wood cuttings 6-8 inches long and dip them in a glass of water half filled severed end down, change the water every 2 days to avoid rotting.

2. In 5-8 days tiny white projections will start to emerge these will become the roots, when you see this wait for some more days until tiny roots form.

3. After the roots have emerged it's time to plant the cuttings, plant the cuttings in a well drained medium containing 1 part sand + 1 part soil + 1 part fully rotted manure, plant half the length of the cutting deep in the soil and water, keep the pot in a shaded location.

4. After 20 days your plants will be established and within 40 days they will start making buds, feed them with DAP and Magnesium sulphate for best performance.

Happy Gardening :ugeek:

Amazingly simple you have made it.
Was thinking is this possible that you make multiple cuttings to root and members who are willing to exchange get it from you in return of something? If that is easily possible for you!
