Mulberry

Post by Muhammad Arif Khan »

AY Khan sb once asked me about Mulberry tree the fruit he tasted in my house.
Our grafted long fruit Mulberry are the best, the black having a slight acidic ting and the sweet white. The taste and flavours are different.
The fruit can be dried and is excellent dry fruit for winters.
I have the black one at my hose and both varieties at Thokar
The Thokar ones were planted basically as wind breakers.
The plant has a good all around spread and can go up to 25 feet.
I keep the one in my house trimmed to about 15 feet.

These trees grow and fruit excellently in Karachi too... one of my office colleague has two trees of the long greenish white variety.. very sweet when ripe.. the fruit is so abundant that human, birds and animals all can enjoy it..
