Re: Ornamantal/fruit Trees
Lets see if we can pass your quiz:
1. Pink flowers look like Nerium oleander
2. Olives

Farooq

Farooq, Yes both white and pink are what we call Kanair.
I am seeing Kanair since child hood but always in the form of bushes. I do not remember seeing a tree any where here but they were very common almost in all states.
I wonder why we do not let them form a tree.
The second was a beautiful huge Almond orchard ready for picking.
Regards
Arif

You are right I have never een a kanair with a single trunk. They must have trained it this way. BTW when you were away our team prepared Flora of Pakistan database. It has info about 170 trees and plants with our own (Pakistani) pictures. Have a look and let us know.

Re: Ornamantal/fruit Trees
I am specially delighted by the tree of olive as it comes in a Hadith:-
Saied al-Ansari narrates that Rasulullah (SAW) said:
“Eat the olive oil and massage it over your bodies since it is a blessed tree.”
(Al-Tirmidhi)

Arent olive tree leaves different to the ones n the picture and secondly the fruit is a bit large to be an olive.
