I planted a pomegranate plant few years ago in a shady spot of my garden. Receives only 2 to 3 hours of sun a day. Tree has not thrived well. Leaves are always infested with insects. Tree looks weak. Should i rip it out or there is any remedy for this?

infested with mealy bugs, need regular spraying of pesticide...

they are not suitable for shade though and the plant will remain weak and susceptible to pest and diseases.. papaya and fig grows better in shade..

2-3 hours of sunlight is too little imo. Fruit trees generally need full sun or atleast 6 hours per day.
