Pruned or ruined orange trees?
Hi everyone. I'm typing with a very heavy heart today. I just came back home to find all the orange trees have been hard pruned by maali. I have no idea why he did this. The fruit was generous this season. I've heard to not prune citrus trees at all. Please help. How will this effect the general health of the trees in the coming harsh summers. I read bare branches cannot survive in heat. Sorry for the blurry image but it's dusk here and I've taken the pic from my balcony upstairs. I don't have the heart to go near them at the moment. I might just cry

Re: Pruned or ruined orange trees?
I have pruned virtually every fruit tree at my place except citrus. However, they should revive as root system looks strong.
For citrus with fewer foliage we resort to foliar sprays for recovery.

Re: Pruned or ruined orange trees?
Hopefully they will !
Being an infant of this gardening forum may i have the courage to say that i have been living in Sargodha "the citrus heaven" for three years now and been seeing a lots of citrus gardens around. I have never seen any orange garden pruned like this. IMO if it was a beneficial practice then all gardens ( 99% are commercial purpose gardens) would be like this some time during the year to get the benefit, but sorry i haven't seen them like this.
I was just wondering if i would be asking too much if we all know what happened with the maali after you saw this [emoji4]
Regards
