Use a aluminium mesh (jaali) to protect young plants.

I have used the Flash Tape to scare the birds away from my grape vines. Haven't seen any bird since & the fruit is safe. May be it works for you also; do give it a try. Good luck!

sparrows were a big problem for me a year back tried everything from rat poison to flashing discs but nothing helped.. these days i see no sparrows anywhere in my area because they have migrated somewhere else.. in short i see no solution to the problem except covering your seedlings with aluminum mesh.
you can also discourage the sparrows by avoiding throwing any leftover food in the surroundings. you will only see sparrows where there is food.

Is it ? Why are then roasted "Chirras" served in Gujranwala ? The city is famous for this & people from other cities specially visit to relish this delicacy.

Please re-consider.

THIS IS A SIGN...........

that you are not visiting your plants more often :-)...when sparrows see that the "MALI" is often loitering around, they will stop coming. Or provide them with an alternate source of food and they will leave your plants alone.

Never heard or read anything like that for the common "birds"...except the birds like crow, eagles, and the likes...

Sparrows are proving blessing for me these day. They are eating good number of caterpillars from lawn when i water the lawn and plants in morning. When water hits the caterpillars they leave their place and sparrows catch them.

Provide some alternative food as said by Farhan sb. it would be beneficial.
