Asslamu alaikum!!!

I have quite a wide side lawn outside my house & I want to cover the outer boundary of it with a hedge. Please tell me which plants are good for this purpose?? My necessities are:

I don't want it to be very tall. It should be of 2.5-3.0 feet tall maximum. I need it to be fast growing & my priority is perennial.

I searched some plants & got these names:

Vibernum
Murraya
Box.

Please share your opinion & suggestions.

you can use duranta ( gold , vartigated and green ), petasporium , legustrum , santha , hibescus , ficus etc

It may be unconventional but mehendi bush (hena, Lawsonia) makes a very good hedge...and last but not the least the leaves can be used for dyeing. Secondly, one can train Conocarpus to become a hedge as well but it will be tall. As others have suggested, Duranta sounds perfect for your requirements.

Leylandii (saru) could be an option but it has many varieties you need the one that is good for small hedges and ya Duranta will also serve the purpose.

Discussed the different options with my husband. He loved the "Duranta" option. Can you tell please by which name it would be easily available from nursery??

I also liked the idea of Mehndi hedge M Farooq sahab but as I searched about it, I found out that it won't grow below 5-11 degree C. :/

mehndi grows easily in lahore so winter hardiness is no issue.
