has anyone used a product with mycorrhizal fungi to stimulate plant growth.I noticed a Vitax product available in lahore at an exorbitant price raising the question"is it worth it"

There are some people that highly recommend mycorrhizal fungi above fertiliser in the soil media, Mostly for new plants as they are able to uptake nutrients very quickly and thus get off to flying start even before settling in a new root system.

I don't buy all that is advertised and rarely find it worth even trying.
The only opinion worth considering is one based on controlled trials and none of us ever does that.

what i wanted to know was whether any of our member has used mycorrhizal fungii in pakistan and if so what was the experience.Apparently no one has done so far.End of story.

Ok I will take the plunge.although an expensive one.dealers are making an exorbitant profit in thie plant business.for example vitax products are being sold at three times the listed price.Even if we add transportation charges and reasonable margin of profit the price should not exceed 1.5 times the price listed by the manufacturers.i am very sore on this issue no check or control by any agency in Pakistani What to do .?

Three times is nothing compared to Rs 400 for 250 Gm of Ferrous Sulphate.

I think I am in the wrong business I should start selling plant fertiliser products instead. lot of money to be made no regulatory authority no price control no taxes and lot of customers easily duped.

Mycorrhizal fungi does work, even in Pakistan.

Im afraid I feel its the marketplace, convenience or laziness of some gardeners that dictates the price.

There are alternatives though like sea weed extracts that contains a unique combination of plant growth hormones. If you live near the sea and you have the time and patience you can make your own!
