shifting chenaar plants

Post by arshee »

Hi everyone.
I need guidance regarding shifting of chenaar plants as shown in the pic to the corners of newly established lawn. This is Buner district and I need to know best time for shifting and possible care to avoid damage to plants.

I guess they will be getting dormant as the winter approached... the best time to transplant is just before spring... dig these 2 feet away from the stem, there will be many roots damaged but the plant will survive inshaAllah... we transplanted some trees back in 2012 with 100% success...

Make a ditch 4 inch wide 18 inches deep, 18 inches from stem on two opposite sides now and fill it with compost. After 2 months do the same on the remaining two sides. New feeding roots will grow in this 4 inch space.
In spring as the buds begin to swell take out 24 inch radius (24 inches from the stem) root ball. Secure the soil of the root ball by wrapping a cloth around it before lifting, the cloth is to be removed after replacement.
Trim the plant to shape, it will also help to reduce the load on roots.
Get going
Good luck
