Terminalia catappa leader shoot got broken

Dear,
Terminalia catappa in my garden has got its central leader shoot broken accidently from the top 2 inch.
Will it grow upwards and will gain height ?

From the old side shoot or from a new one, there will rise upwards a new shoot that ll become the central leader. And u won't need a stake to make it upright.
